For us in Iowa the World Food Prize is what Wall Street is to the Occupy movement in New York. The same corporate/financial elites who run Wall Street own the World Food Prize and control the world food supply.
Where else but in Des Moines with Occupy the World Food Prize (OWFP) can you combine the fight against GMOs and Corporate Ag. All of our events are part of OWFP efforts to redirect the public conversation about our global world food system through the use of public discourse, an alternative food prize, and direct action-nonviolent civil disobedience. This will all take place during the World Food Prize conference and award ceremony night.
Join the protest against the Monsanto, Gates, DuPont, etc. controlled World Food Prize. The demonstration will occur the evening of the World Food Prize award, October 16, 2014, in Des Moines, Iowa. We demonstrate against the corporate control of the world’s food supply and the corruption of the World Food Prize.
