On Thursday we held our mid-summer national organizing conference call for Campaign Nonviolence Week September 20-27, 2015. Over 50 people joined the call from across the country and shared some fantastic ideas for their actions!
Plans include vigils for peace in Madison, marches from Ellis Island in New York connecting immigration and climate change, dialoguing about the importance of forgiveness in California, interfaith gatherings for peace, peace poster contests and neighborhood peace libraries, and a vigil for peace at the civil rights museum in Memphis, Tennessee. Currently 130 actions are being planned with many more to come.
In addition to that, Ken Butigan shared twenty different action ideas that could be used during CNV Action Week! Read the full list here.
If you missed the call be sure to read the notes or listen to the audio on our website here.
As action plans come together for September, be sure to let us know if you are taking part by signing up on our action page here. If your action is already listed on the Actions Page and you are ready to send your actions details, you can submit them here.
