Two students at Dominican Academy High School are advocating against the use of GMOs in Nestle's Gerber baby formula in their recently created petition, Petitioning Nestle's Gerber Food Start.
Both juniors, Madeleine Proctor and Nicole Halada are "passionate about avoiding GMOs and believe that children shouldn't be exposed to the risks of GMOs at such a young age."
Their research shows many reasons why it's so important for companies to stop using GMOs in their baby formula.
According to the petition, it's imperative that "newborn children are not exposed to the dangers of GMOs." Their bodies are still in early development and are therefore more susceptible to allergies and have a greater chance of being affected by the dangers of antibiotic resistant diseases.
It's time to pressure Gerber to stop using GMOs in their baby food and support their project.
