Let the peaceful protests begin! Starting Saturday thousands of people will line the streets in 428 cities across 38 countires to join in the worldwide protest against Monsanto.
As part of the March Against Monsanto (MAM) grassroots campaign, the worldwide movement is aimed at bringing awareness to the dangers surrounding the giant bio-tech company's genetically modified seeds and cancer-linked herbicide, RoundUp, according to the campaign's press release.
The worldwide protest will begin on May 23 and consist of physical protests, online coverage and live-streaming social media presence.
“There’s no question that March Against Monsanto is the most powerful grassroots initiative we have in the fight to reclaim our food supply from the GMO seed juggernaut known as the Monsanto Company,” Anthony Gucciardi, March Against Monsanto speaker and founder of the natural health website NaturalSociety.com, said.
According to MAM's press release:
The campaign comes as the demand for GMO labeling and non-GMO food alternatives continues its exponential climb, with states like Vermont enacting mandatory GM labeling legislation that will require food corporations to let consumers know if their products contain GM ingredients.
